PayPal is now a first-class payment option
Magmaro has added PayPal as a supported payment method across the entire marketplace. Creators can connect their PayPal account from the payout settings page by simply entering their PayPal email address — no complicated OAuth flow or approval process required.
Once a creator has their PayPal email saved, buyers will see a PayPal button alongside Stripe at checkout. Payments go directly to the creator's PayPal account, keeping the process simple and transparent for everyone involved.
How it works for creators
Head to Account → Creator Settings → Payout Settings. You will find two tabs: one for Stripe Connect and one for PayPal. Entering your PayPal email is all it takes. You can have both methods active at the same time, or just the one you prefer.
If a creator has both Stripe and PayPal set up, buyers see both options and can choose freely. If only one is configured, buyers see only that one. The checkout experience adapts automatically.
How it works for buyers
On any paid resource page, the checkout panel now shows the payment methods the creator accepts. Single-resource checkout and cart checkout both support PayPal. The PayPal button uses the official PayPal JS SDK for a secure, familiar payment experience.
Cart checkout continues to enforce the single-creator rule: all items in a cart must belong to the same creator. This ensures that payout routing stays accurate regardless of the payment method chosen.
Looking ahead: Tebex and a centralised payment layer
Stripe and PayPal cover a lot of ground, but the longer-term vision for Magmaro includes a centralised payment layer where the platform itself handles collection and then distributes payouts to creators. This unlocks mixed-creator carts, platform-level coupons, and proper revenue reporting.
Tebex is one option we are watching closely. Tebex is a well-established gaming marketplace payment provider with strong creator tooling, and it would be a natural fit for Magmaro's audience. However, Tebex requires platform approval and typically works with established marketplaces that already have significant volume. As a growing marketplace, Magmaro is not at that stage yet.
When Magmaro reaches the scale and credibility that Tebex requires, integrating it as a primary payment backbone is something we would genuinely pursue. Until then, Stripe and PayPal remain fully supported and creators are free to use whichever they prefer — or both.
