Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Magmaro collects, why it is collected, how it is used and protected, what is shared and with whom, and what controls users have over their own data.
Account and Profile Information
When you create a Magmaro account, you provide certain information directly to the platform. This includes your chosen username, display name, email address, date of birth, country and password. Once your account exists, you may also provide optional profile information such as an avatar, banner image, profile biography, external website link, social media handles and any other content you add to your public profile.
Magmaro stores this information to authenticate your identity, operate your account, personalise your experience, associate your content and activity with your profile, and provide creator or buyer-facing features. Your email address is used for account communication, security alerts and notification delivery, and is never publicly displayed to other users without your explicit consent.
Account preferences — including visibility settings for your public profile, about section display, notification categories and interface preferences — are also stored so your choices persist across sessions and devices.
Marketplace and Creator Content
If you publish content on Magmaro as a creator, the platform stores all data associated with that content. This includes resource listings, job posts, listing descriptions, pricing, tags, categories, compatibility information, supported versions, feature lists, changelog entries, license terms, version history, uploaded packages, release metadata, product icons, cover images, screenshots and any other assets or metadata attached to a listing.
Creator dashboard data is also stored, including revenue metrics, download counts, listing performance, promotional campaign history, coupon usage records, ad placement records and any other operational data generated by your activity as a creator on the platform. This data is used to operate creator tools, power analytics, validate commercial activity and support marketplace trust.
Purchases and Financial Metadata
When you complete a purchase on Magmaro, the platform stores transaction metadata associated with that purchase. This includes identifiers for the purchased resource, the order amount and currency, any discount or coupon applied, the payment provider reference, the transaction timestamp and the resulting access grant. This information is used to confirm the purchase, deliver buyer library access, support creator revenue reporting, validate checkout outcomes, resolve disputes and maintain marketplace auditability.
Magmaro does not store payment card numbers, card verification codes, bank account details or any equivalent sensitive payment credentials. These details are handled exclusively by third-party payment processors — currently Stripe — in accordance with their own security standards and terms. Magmaro stores only the non-sensitive references and identifiers returned by those processors after a transaction is completed.
If a purchase is refunded, reversed, disputed or cancelled, a record of that event is also retained for accounting, fraud prevention and creator payout accuracy purposes.
Buyer Library and Access Records
Magmaro stores records of which resources each user has acquired access to, how that access was granted (purchase, creator ownership, platform grant or other mechanism), which version of each resource is current for that user and whether access is active or suspended. These records are the authoritative source of buyer entitlements and are used every time a user accesses their library or downloads a file.
Download event counts and version access information may also be stored as part of creator analytics. Individual download events are not personally attributed in creator-visible dashboards — creators see aggregate statistics rather than individual buyer identities.
Messages, Reviews, Discussions and Profile Posts
Magmaro stores the content of private messages exchanged between users, profile posts published on your own or others' profiles, public resource reviews and star ratings, review replies from creators, and resource discussion threads and replies. This content is retained to support user communication, product discovery, creator-buyer support interactions, moderation, abuse prevention and the overall usefulness of community features.
Public-facing content such as profile posts, reviews and discussion replies is visible to other platform users according to where it was published and the visibility settings of your account. Private messages are not publicly visible, but may be retained and accessed internally where necessary for security, enforcement, abuse investigation or platform integrity purposes.
Deleting a message or post from the interface may remove its public visibility, but does not necessarily remove the underlying record from platform infrastructure immediately, particularly where that record is subject to an active moderation review, dispute or security investigation.
Notifications and Browser Subscriptions
Magmaro stores notification preferences, notification records and — where you have granted permission — browser push subscription tokens. These are used to deliver alerts for new messages, resource sale events, library updates, new versions of resources you own, profile interactions, moderation notices and other platform events that you have configured to receive.
Browser push subscription tokens are associated with your account and used solely to deliver notifications from Magmaro. They are not used for advertising, cross-site tracking or profiling. You can revoke browser push permissions at any time through your browser settings, and notification delivery preferences can be adjusted per category in your account settings.
Technical and Usage Data
In the course of operating the platform, Magmaro may store technical data necessary for security, performance monitoring and abuse detection. This may include IP addresses associated with login events, session identifiers, authentication tokens, request logs relevant to security investigations and error records that help identify and resolve platform issues.
This technical data is not used to build user profiles for commercial purposes. It is retained for the minimum period necessary for the operational or security purpose it serves.
Core Platform Operations
The primary use of all stored information is to operate the Magmaro platform. This encompasses authenticating user access, maintaining account state across sessions, delivering purchased content to buyer libraries, rendering creator listings, powering creator dashboard analytics, applying promotional discounts and coupons at checkout, processing and recording transactions, sending notifications, managing version access, resolving disputes and supporting the overall commercial and community functions of the marketplace.
Without storing and using this information, the platform could not function. Every category of data described in the "What We Store" tab exists because it is necessary to provide a feature or service that users rely on.
Moderation, Safety and Fraud Prevention
Magmaro uses stored information to detect, investigate and respond to abuse, fraud, harassment, policy violations, payment fraud, chargeback abuse, impersonation, malicious file distribution and other harmful behavior. This includes reviewing communication records, purchase patterns, account activity, IP history and other signals that may indicate misconduct.
Safety-related use of data takes priority over other considerations where there is credible evidence of harm, illegal activity or serious policy violations. Magmaro may retain data beyond normal retention periods where it is relevant to an active investigation, dispute, enforcement action or legal matter.
Creator Analytics and Commercial Reporting
Creator dashboard data — including sales counts, revenue figures, download statistics, promotional performance and library access records — is derived from transactional and usage data stored by the platform. This information is presented to creators in aggregate to help them understand how their listings are performing.
Individual buyer identities are not exposed to creators through standard analytics. Creators do not have access to the personal data of users who purchased their products beyond what is necessary for legitimate platform interactions such as support discussions.
Platform Improvement
Magmaro may use aggregated, non-personally-identifiable usage patterns to understand how the platform is being used, which features are most valuable and where improvements are needed. This analysis is used internally to guide product development, fix issues, improve reliability and prioritise features.
This type of analysis does not involve profiling individual users or making automated decisions that affect your account. It is a general operational practice common to all software platforms.
Communication and Account Notifications
Magmaro uses your email address and notification preferences to send communications that are necessary for account operation. These include account registration confirmation, password reset messages, purchase receipts, access grant confirmations, security alerts relating to your account, and — where enabled — platform notifications for events such as new messages, listing updates or promotional activity.
Magmaro does not send marketing emails to users who have not opted in to receiving them. Where you receive platform communications you did not request, you can manage notification preferences in your account settings or contact Magmaro support.
Retention and Operational Necessity
Magmaro retains data for as long as it is necessary to serve the purpose for which it was collected. For active accounts, most data is retained for the lifetime of the account. For inactive or deleted accounts, data is retained only where continued retention is necessary for legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, creator payout accuracy, buyer access continuity or preservation of marketplace audit records.
Some categories of data — particularly transaction records, moderation records and communications tied to enforcement actions — may be retained for longer periods than typical account data, in order to meet the obligations described above. Magmaro does not retain any category of data longer than is reasonably necessary for its identified purpose.
Security, Authentication and Access Controls
Magmaro uses stored account data, session tokens, IP information and access control systems to authenticate users, enforce role-based access restrictions and protect account integrity. Access to sensitive data — including financial records, private messages and moderation context — is restricted within the platform to the roles and systems that require it for legitimate operational purposes.
No system can guarantee perfect security against all possible threats. Magmaro takes reasonable technical and operational steps to reduce the risk of unauthorized access, data loss and misuse, including encrypted data transmission, access-controlled storage and monitoring for unusual activity. If a security incident occurs that affects your personal data, Magmaro will take appropriate steps to notify affected users as required by applicable law.
What Is Publicly Visible
Certain information on Magmaro is public by design, as it is necessary for the marketplace to function. This includes your username, avatar, banner, profile biography, profile posts published to your public profile, resource listings you have published, job posts, public reviews you have written, public discussion replies, your creator status and certain activity entries that you have opted to display on your profile.
Public content is visible to any visitor of the platform, including users who are not logged in, unless access controls or account privacy settings restrict it. You should not publish information in public-facing areas of your profile that you would not want any person to see.
What Is Not Publicly Visible
The following categories of data are not publicly visible to other users under normal circumstances:
- Your email address and date of birth
- Private messages sent or received through the platform
- Your purchase history and buyer library contents
- Internal transaction metadata and payment provider references
- Browser push subscription tokens and notification delivery records
- Internal moderation history, enforcement actions and safety records
- Account settings, preferences and visibility configurations
- Creator revenue figures, payout history and financial reporting data
- Technical data such as IP addresses, session tokens and login records
While these categories are not publicly visible, they may still be accessible internally by Magmaro staff for the operational and safety purposes described in this policy.
Profile Visibility Controls
Users have meaningful control over which elements of their profile are displayed publicly. Through account settings, you can control whether your about section is visible, which activity entries appear on your public profile, whether your profile posts are shown to non-followers, and other profile-level visibility preferences. These settings affect what other users see when they visit your profile page.
Some data remains visible regardless of personal visibility settings where it is necessary for marketplace continuity. For example, your username will remain associated with listings you have published even if you reduce the visibility of other profile elements, because removing that association would undermine the integrity of published products.
Third-Party Service Providers
Magmaro uses a limited number of third-party service providers to operate the platform. These providers receive access to data only to the extent necessary to provide the service they are engaged for, and are bound by confidentiality and data handling obligations.
Current categories of third-party service use include:
- Payment processing — Stripe and equivalent processors handle payment transactions and receive the personal and financial information necessary to process payments securely.
- Hosting and infrastructure — cloud hosting, storage and delivery providers may process platform data as part of operating the technical infrastructure that Magmaro runs on.
- Email delivery — transactional email providers are used to deliver account emails including registration confirmation, password resets, purchase receipts and security alerts.
Magmaro does not sell personal data to any third party. Magmaro does not share personal data with advertising networks, data brokers or commercial profiling services.
Legal Disclosures
Magmaro may disclose personal data to law enforcement agencies, regulators, courts or other authorities where required or permitted by law, or where Magmaro reasonably believes that disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, protect the rights or safety of Magmaro or its users, investigate or prevent fraud, or respond to a valid legal request.
Where legally permitted, Magmaro will make reasonable efforts to notify affected users of such requests before disclosure. Where notification is legally prohibited or would compromise an investigation, Magmaro will comply with the applicable legal requirement without prior notice.
Data Transfers
Magmaro may process and store data on infrastructure located in different countries. By using the platform, you acknowledge that your data may be transferred to, stored in or processed in jurisdictions outside your own country, where data protection laws may differ from those that apply in your location. Magmaro takes reasonable steps to ensure that any such transfers are carried out in a manner consistent with applicable data protection requirements.
Profile and Account Settings
You have direct control over much of the personal information stored in your Magmaro account. From your account settings page, you can update your display name, biography, avatar, banner, website, country and other profile details at any time. Changes take effect immediately and are reflected across the platform.
You can also adjust which elements of your profile are publicly visible, which activity entries appear on your profile page, and how your about section is presented. These visibility settings give you meaningful control over your public presence without requiring you to delete your account.
Notification Preferences
Magmaro's notification system is configurable per category. You can enable or disable notifications for messages, resource sale events, library updates, new versions of owned resources, profile interactions, promotional activity and other event types independently. Changes to notification preferences take effect for future notifications and do not affect historical records.
Browser push notification permissions are managed separately through your browser settings. Revoking browser permission will stop push delivery immediately, regardless of in-app notification settings. Both controls can be used together to fully disable push delivery for any notification category.
Email Communication Preferences
Certain emails — such as account confirmation, password resets, purchase receipts and security alerts — are operational in nature and cannot be opted out of while your account is active, as they are necessary for the secure operation of your account. Other categories of platform email communication can be managed through your account settings.
If you receive emails from Magmaro that you did not expect or did not opt in to, contact Magmaro support to have the issue resolved. Magmaro does not send unsolicited marketing emails.
Access to Your Data
You can access most of your personal data directly through your account interface, including your profile information, purchase history, buyer library, notification records, listing data and creator dashboard history. If you need access to specific data that is not visible through the standard interface, you may contact Magmaro support to make a request.
Magmaro will respond to reasonable data access requests within a timeframe consistent with applicable law. In some cases, Magmaro may need to verify your identity before fulfilling an access request to prevent unauthorized disclosure of another person's data.
Correction and Update of Data
If you believe that personal information stored by Magmaro is inaccurate, incomplete or outdated, you can correct most of it directly through your account settings. For data that cannot be corrected through the interface — such as historical transaction records or system-generated identifiers — you may contact Magmaro support to request a review.
Magmaro cannot correct or delete records where doing so would compromise transaction integrity, buyer access, creator payout accuracy, audit trails or active enforcement and dispute processes.
Account Deletion and Data Removal
If you wish to close your Magmaro account and request deletion of your personal data, you must contact Magmaro support directly. Account deletion requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis and processed within a reasonable timeframe.
Following account deletion, Magmaro will remove or anonymise personal data that is no longer required for any legitimate operational purpose. However, some data may be retained after your account is closed in the following circumstances:
- Transaction records and purchase history, to preserve buyer access continuity and creator payout accuracy
- Financial and commercial records required for accounting, legal compliance or tax purposes
- Communications, moderation records and enforcement history tied to active or unresolved safety matters
- Data necessary to prevent the re-registration of a previously terminated account following a serious policy violation
- Any data that another user has a legitimate interest in retaining as part of their own marketplace history
Where data is retained after deletion, it is kept only for the specific purpose that justifies retention and is not used for any commercial or marketing purpose.
Cookies and Local Storage
Magmaro uses cookies and browser local storage to maintain session state, remember authentication credentials across visits and store interface preferences. These are technical necessities for the platform to function correctly. Magmaro does not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies.
If you disable cookies in your browser, some features of the platform — including staying logged in across sessions — may not function correctly.
Changes to This Policy
Magmaro may update this Privacy Policy over time as the platform evolves, new features are introduced, payment flows change, legal requirements develop or operational practices are updated. When material changes are made, Magmaro will make reasonable efforts to communicate them through the platform before they take effect.
Continued use of Magmaro after an updated Privacy Policy takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised version. If you disagree with any change, you should stop using the platform and request account deletion as described above. It is your responsibility to review this policy periodically to stay informed of any updates.
